unto others never neverland.jpeg
"Never, Neverland" - Unto Others -2024 - Century Media Records
"My personal favorite album of 2024. Unto Others offers a "melancholy heavy" sound like no other band! Blending a mix of post punk and 80's heavy metal, "Never, Neverland" offers up a mix of aggression and sadness with beautiful guitar leads and unique baritone vocals. Unto Others are a modern band that have been rightfully moving up in the metal world today, I would definitely keep them on your radar!"

Favorite Tracks: "Raigeki 雷撃", "Momma Likes the Door Closed", "Angel of the Night", "Never, Neverland"
Wytch-Hazel-IV-Sacrament-01.jpg
"IV: Sacrament" - Wytch Hazel - 2023 - Bad Omen Records
"My personal favorite album of 2023. Believe it or not, me and a Catholic Priest jammed to this album together as it's Christian Rock! Wytch Hazel is a modern quartet offering a 1970's style sound similar to Wishbone Ash and Thin Lizzy. The ear catching guitar leads and power chords is what makes the album, it's as if they came from God's very own Marshall stacks! Religious or not you can't help to bang your head along to awesome lyrics like "Satan is chained for a thousand years, cast into the ground! Saints they will reign for a thousand years, they will bear the crown!" Plus the unique medieval style album cover is beautiful!"

Favorite Tracks: "The Fire's Control", "Angel of Light", A Thousand Years"

Repugnant Epitome of Darkness.jpeg
“Epitome of Darkness” - Repugnant -  2006 - Soulseller Records
“Did you know that prior to Ghost, vocalist Tobias Forge fronted a band called Repugnant, and their only album released, Epitome of Darkness, happens to be one of the greatest modern thrash-death releases ever! Blending Swedish death metal old school like Entombed with early thrash-death metal like Possessed, Repugnant is an evil undead corpse that is fast and relentless but also at times brooding and dark. In addition, all the excellent lyrics that horror movie hounds would enjoy! This album is a must listen for thrash/death metal fans or those curious about Ghost’s musical origins. Before he was Papa Emeritus he was Mary Goore!"

Favorite Tracks: "Hungry Are the Damned", "Premature Burial", "Voices of the Dead", "From Beyond the Grave", and "Eating From a Coffin”
 Riot City Burn the Night.jpeg
"Burn The Night" - Riot City - 2019 -
No Remorse Records

"My personal favorite album of 2019. If you got Judas Priest's Screaming For Vengeance or Riot's Thundersteel vibes from the album cover then well done! Riot City's debut album is a twin guitar speed metal attack that pays homage to their 80's heroes. What's unique is there is a fair share of songs that have slow intros or interludes that serve as a buildup for epic shredding and thunderous wailing vocals! Like an offspring of The Hellion soaring high above the skies at 1,000 MPH, "Burn The Night" keeps the spirit of speed metal alive in the modern age!"

Favorite Tracks: "In the Dark", "The Hunter",
"Steel Rider"
the contortionist exoplanet.jpg
"Exoplanet" - The Contortionist - 2010 - Good Fight Music
"The Contortionist's debut, Exoplanet, features some of the best guitar work I have ever heard! This is an album that's best experienced listening from beginning to end as it's a concept album about man's venture into outer space similar to a Michael Crichton novel. Exoplanet does an excellent job of pummeling you with deathcore riffs and vocals but then transitions to BEAUTIFUL passages of atmospheric melodies. The guitar solos on the tracks "Flourish" and "Oscillator" alone make Exoplanet a worthy listen! To say this album is "out of this world" is an understatement!"

Favorite Tracks: "Flourish", "Oscillator", "Primal Directive", "Contact"
